“A fantastic place to visit if you’re looking for something unique – and the breakfast at Staddle Stones – truly exceptional.”

The place for something special

The Broadwindsor Craft and Design Centre is situated in the heart of West Dorset’s beautiful rolling countryside. Redundant farm buildings on the edge of the village were the starting point in 1986 for this unique venture. Today, the Craft Centre is renowned for its excellence and quality, bringing together a community of independent traders, an abundance of gifts for yourself or someone yo love, good food & a deli full of locally produced and regionally sourced food and drink.

The Craft Centre underwent a major transformation in 2002 when an extension was built from locally quarried stone. This allowed the additions of two further rooms in the main gift shop, including a dedicated toy room. The main shop gallery was also opened at this time displaying pictures, lighting, fireside tools, fire guards and log baskets.

In 2012 the Craft Centre opened the Gallery of Makers, exhibiting many talented artists from the local area all under one roof.

The Craft Centre is owned by Colin and Sarah Williams. Sarah was born to a farming family in the village and worked in the restaurant at the Craft Centre as a Saturday girl for many years. Today, it is very much a family run business, with the emphasis on a friendly, welcoming atmosphere to create an enjoyable experience.

Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a leisurely lunch, or just a cuppa with a slice of your favourite cake, pop into Staddle Stones.
