Discover something new

The Broadwindsor Craft Centre brings together some of the region's best suppliers – whether they’re in one of our Craft Studios, or represented in our own Shop and Deli. Creating a complete shopping experience that caters to all kinds of tastes and preferences, you’d be hard-pressed to find choice like this, all in one location.

Wander through the Craft Centre Shop and Deli and explore the abundance of homeware, gifts, beauty products, jewellery, clothing, bags, artwork, toys, books, cards and more, before popping into our Deli and feasting your eyes on our wide range of local foodie treats in the form of biscuits and bakes, olives, seasonings, preserves, cold meats, cheese, wines and freshly-baked treats from our own kitchen.

Whether you’re looking for a gift for him or her, them or the little ones, or whether you just feel like treating yourself, you will find whatever it is you’re looking for, with us.

Throughout the rest of the Craft Centre, we are proud to be home to a bustling community of independent retailers and crafters who offer another unique shopping experience. From a fabric shop to a stone carver, a baker and a glass designer, a beauty room and nail bar and more.

Our Gallery of Makers is nestled quietly in the rafters of the Craft Centre and is home to a world of art, from painting to sculpture and more.

Looking for a special gift, but don't know what to buy?

Perfect for any occasion, from birthdays and weddings to anniversaries and Christmas, or simply just to say ‘Thanks’, our gift vouchers give you options!

Support local

Based in the heart of West Dorset, Broadwindsor’s heritage boasts a church that dates back to the 12th Century and the site of a royal refuge during the Civil War to King Charles II, after fleeing parliamentary troops following the Battle of Worcester. Today, it is the heart of a bustling community that includes a community shop, a local pub and a primary school – all of which play a vital role in village life. From villages to towns, all over the UK, we thrive on the support and encouragement we receive from those who frequent our premises – locals and visitors alike. That’s why, for as far as possible, we are proud to stock and support fellow local suppliers in our shops too – giving them all the best chance at growing their independent businesses.

We are thankful for the ongoing support we receive from all those who visit our Craft Centre, and look forward to many more years of making memories with you.

Some of the region’s best creators, all under 1 roof.

Some call it the best-kept secret, some simply call it a marvel – our Gallery of Makers, run by Clare Colby, offers the visitor a bounty of local art and crafts in the form of original paintings, limited edition prints, wooden sculptures, hand-crafted ceramics, illustrated greeting cards and other unique items. If you’re looking for something truly spectacular, make sure you pop in. Open on Tuesdays to Sundays from 11am to 4pm.

Be Inspired!

The Craft Centre at Broadwindsor is also home to a community of independently-run craft studios. Offering a variety of lovely gifts as well as a fascinating insight into the craftsmanship that goes into producing their creations, you can have your hair cut, grab a beauty treatment or pick up a freshly-baked loaf of sourdough bread. Take a browse through a fantastic fabric shop, or watch a master stone-carver at work - there is something for everyone to enjoy.

You might even be inspired to have a go yourself at one of the craft workshops, or purchase some materials to take home to experiment with yourself.

Opening hours of individual craft studios may vary so if you’re planning to visit a specific retailer and coming from a distance, be sure to check their opening hours with them to avoid any disappointment on the day of your visit.
